How to hire the best band for your special wedding

A person's wedding is one of the most memorable days of their life - and small 2408535634most people, rightfully so, want every detail to be perfect from the dinnerware that is being served to the guests to the music the wedding band is playing.

One detail that nobody should leave behind or skimp on is the wedding band. Most are aware that music is an integral part of any successful event whether it be a wedding, birthday party, anniversary party or company event, but often times people tend to overlook it's importance. But, if you ask any wedding guest one year after they attended a wedding what they remember most about the wedding - many times they'll respond with "the music."

As a Boston-based wedding band, we've heard our fair share of success and horror stories - which is why we've decided to share with you some of the most important questions you should ask before hiring your wedding band. We want to mitigate any horror and simply make a happy Boston wedding scene. Note: these questions are the ones that come as you're feeling out the potential band - but at least are interested.

5 Questions to ask before hiring your Boston Wedding Band:

1. Are you available for this date?

While this doesn't seem like the very first question to ask, it is the most important one - simply because if the band is booked then you are out of luck. Get that out of the way immediately by asking if they're available on your wedding date.

2. What does your music repertoire consist of?

We know that Bostonians love Bruce Springsteen's "Dirty Water" and Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline" but we also know that they're looking for a little more depth in their wedding band's musical variety.

Ask if you can see a list of their music. Or better yet, ask if they have a webpage with audio or a CD available for you to listen to. If you can hear the music or even see the band live before you book., this can easily help to rule in, or rule out, some of the potential Boston bands.

3. Do you have any client testimonials?

Asking if they have some additional resources or references from previous customers is a great way to get insight as to their professionalism and whether they're worth your money or not.

4. Are you on WeddingWire or social media?

900+ million people are on Facebook and you want a band that is serious about their reputation and success. The best of the best will be on WeddingWire, Facebook and Twitter - making themselves easily accessible to you in multiple social channels.

5. Have you worked at our venue before?

While this question isn't imperative, having a band that has been on location before and has been there frequently can help save you some piece of mind on your special day.

If they're familiar with the location they will arrive on time and feel comfortable in their setting, which is a major advantage for any band.

When booking a wedding band for your special night, there are a lot of different things to consider. Always remember to ask each potential band these five questions to ensure you're hiring the best band for you!
